Dr. Marlin Geist
Dr. Geist moved to Colorado Springs in 2014 with his wife and 1-year old daughter with the intention of raising their daughter and retiring here. He joined the Westside Animal Hospital family in September, 2014. Dr. Geist was raised in the state of Washington, attended vet school at Washington State University, and graduated in 1996. He worked for many years at practices in Washington and Oregon. For the last 10 years Dr. Geist operated his own veterinary surgery business, also working in emergency medicine.
Dr. Geist brings with him many years of experience in some areas of complicated surgeries, as well as the prevention and long-term management associated with them. These include TPLO (for cranial cruciate ligament injuries), fracture repair, corrective orthopedic surgery, minimally-invasive surgery (endoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, etc.), reconstructive surgery, and major abdominal surgeries. He is currently in the process of getting certification for PennHIP screening (for early identification and intervention of canine hip dysplasia).
Dr. Geist’s other areas of practice interest include pain management, wound healing, and helping to build the human-animal bond. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hiking, climbing, biking, and fly-fishing.
Dr. Kelly Hutchison
We are excited to welcome our new Veterinarian, Dr. Kelly Hutchison! Dr. Hutchison is a 2011 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University, and a 2013 graduate of the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Wellington, Florida. With a keen interest in canine rehabilitation, advanced pain management, and geriatric medicine, Dr. Hutchison is eager to develop collaborative relationships with clients and staff of Westside Animal Hospital.
Dr. Hutchison will begin taking appointments on October 12th. We encourage our clients to schedule their pets’ next visit with Dr. Hutchison; we are confident her engaging warmth and intuitive diagnostic skills will benefit our four-legged companions.
Leslie has been employed at Westside Animal Hospital since February 1997. She was in the communications field for nineteen years before leaving the "corporate world" to move on to a more rewarding career in pet health care.
They share a home with Ruby, a French bulldog rescue. Ruby is their "child" and she is shamelessly spoiled! While Chows Chows will always be part of their lives, they have discovered the many charms of the Frenchies as well!
Leslie and her husband, Ted, enjoy traveling, biking, and marathon movie viewing at home. Leslie is a committed runner who is also passionate about gardening and most anything to do with the natural world – and shoes!
CVT/Lead Veterinary Technician
I moved to Colorado with my husband in the summer of 2000 and enjoy all the outdoor activities this state has to offer.
After several years as a Travel Agent and many more in customer service related jobs, I decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine.
I graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2005 and cannot imagine doing anything other than helping animals and their families.
Since moving to Colorado, my husband and I have taken full advantage of the outdoor life. We enjoy hiking and backpacking the many trails available. Recently we have taken up rock and ice climbing. On my lazy days I enjoy reading and even sewing.
Currently we are down to one four legged child. Her name is Señorita (Rita for short) and we adopted her from the Puerto Vallarta SPCA in May 2014. Rita looks like a black lab mix but DNA testing says she is Mastiff/Bassett hound mix. Either way she is a bundle of energy that fits into our active life.
Certified Veterinary Technician
I'm a Colorado native and can't imagine living anywhere else. I have especially fallen in love with Colorado Springs.
After many years working in accounting and customer service I decided to pursue my dream of a career working with animals. I completed my studies and graduated from Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 1999. I became a member of the Westside family in 2011 and love the people I work with and the very special clients who trust us with their four legged family members.
My husband Mike and I fulfilled our dreams of living in the mountains and enjoy spending time in the home we built and the challenges of mountain living. We enjoy continuing to work on our home and trying to garden at high altitude. We also enjoy camping and fishing.
In my spare time my passions include NASCAR racing and racing of all kinds, hiking, biking and stitching. I also love music and my new challenge is learning to play the guitar.
My family consists of our 2 rescue dogs - Ellie Mae and Samantha.
Certified Veterinary Technician
I grew up in western New York and joined the Army right after high school. I was stationed in Germany, Colorado and Iraq. After the Army, I moved to Indiana where I worked on a horse-breeding farm for six years. I decided to move back to Colorado Springs to attend school at Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology, which I have graduated from and became a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Of all the places I have been Colorado Springs is one of my favorites, which is why I have decided to make this place my home. In my free time, I enjoy hiking in the mountains, gardening and horseback riding.
I have two “children,” Shrek who is a three-year-old English bulldog/beagle mix and is quite the character. He loves sleeping in, going for car rides and going on hikes with me. Ash is a one and a half year old mastiff mix who just recently joined my family. He loves to play with Shrek and is quite the couch potato.
I am proud to be a part of Westside Animal Hospital’s team and love my new career working with animals every day.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Originally hailing from Columbus, Ohio, I met my husband after moving to North Carolina. After becoming a proud military spouse, we completed a three year tour in Germany, which was an amazing experience.
In 2012, we were stationed in Colorado Springs; soon after, we welcomed a beautiful son into our family. I graduated from Pima Medical Institute and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. After completing my internship at Westside, I became a full-fledged healthcare team member.
In addition to our delightful son, we have 2 children with paws; a 7 year old Golden Retriever, and a 3 year old Great Dane.
On my days off I enjoy all the wonderful activities Colorado has to offer. I also enjoy traveling and quiet nights catching up on my shows.
Ari moved from San Diego, CA to Colorado seeking better living for her family. In 2005, she graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a Veterinary Assistant.

“I love working at Westside – the staff is amazing and I love working with the wonderful vets.”
Jasmine was born and raised in Astoria, Queens, New York City. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1983 and settled near her sister, Dr. De Waal's wife, Merrilee.
With her lifelong love of animals, Jasmine adopted a cat, Cindy and a dog, Nifty. They both lived good long lives and passed away when they were very old.
Jasmine's most recent addition is a cat named Skittles who came to her through adoption from the Humane Society. He has a very unique personality and provides Jasmine with many hours of companionship and enjoyment. Some of his playful antics include chasing his tail and playing with his toys.
Jessica was born and raised right here in Colorado. She left the state for a short time after high school, but returned in the summer of 2004 to be closer to family and friends and the beautiful mountains of home. She lives with her husband, Travis, and her house full of furry rescues.
Her hobbies include reading, motorcycling, scuba diving, and hanging out with her pets and family.
It has been her life's dream to work around and help care for animals and their people. She considers her position here at Westside Animal Hospital to be her dream job come true.
Born and raised in Colorado, Marissa has moved around a lot, yet ultimately decided to settle down in her beautiful home state.
Marissa met her husband Erik in 2005 and married in 2010. They hope to start a family soon but until then are happy with their two "daughters" a Maine Coon, Zuzu and Tuxedo cat, Moxie.
Marissa has been in the customer service field for over 14 years and has a passion for helping people. Since joining the team at Westside, Marissa has found she has even more fun helping animals and their “parents”.
Along with painting and reading, Marissa loves everything vintage and watching classic movies.
In the winter she is enrolling in school for Mortuary Science and hope to open her own business someday. Until then, Marissa is thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful, dedicated loving family here at Westside Animal Hospital.
I moved from Alaska to Colorado Springs in 2006 and have loved it here ever since. I am blessed with wonderful friends and family including my two children Mikayla and Davin. I also have one furry kiddo named Ty, my Golden Retriever, who happily greets me each and every day whether I'm coming home from work or returning from running errands.
I truly enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather by camping, hiking and taking Ty to the dog park in the summers, then spending the winter months either taking my kids to the movies, shopping or just staying in and playing board games.
I am blessed to be a part of the Westside Animal Hospital team and have created long lasting friendships with my awesome co-workers as well as good relationships with our great clientele.
Hey there, my name is Blanca! I am originally from Los Angeles, California, and moved to beautiful Colorado Springs as a child. Since then I have made many solid friendships, graduated from Doherty High School, and became an Esthetician. I enjoy spending my time outdoors as much as possible. I worked at a laser skincare clinic for about two years, then I came across the opportunity to work at Westside Animal Hospital – it has been an amazing experience!
Ever since I was little I have been surrounded by critters and being able to help pets maintain and receive healthcare has been very rewarding. I am proud to be a part of an amazing team!
As of now, I have one fur baby, Hendrix, my silly cat who brightens my day – I sense a lot more in my future.
Megan moved to Colorado Springs from Los Angeles in the spring of 2007 to enjoy the beautiful mountains and be closer to family.
She holds a B.A. in Graphic Design yet her passion has always been to work with animals. Megan has been a Veterinary Technician as well as receptionist since 2002 and finds it very rewarding.
Together with her husband, Keith, they share a home with two rescued Greyhounds; Tess and Kingston; and the most recent addition, a rescue Sighthound Mix, Winnie, along with four rescued cats; Fitzgerald, Coda, Kinsey, and Finley. They love spending time with their “spoiled” kids; hiking with the dogs, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
Originally from a small town in New Hampshire, Nicole spent several years in the field of biology pursuing a career in Marine Science. This took her to several places across the country, and even to parts of Canada doing research on marine organisms. After marrying her husband and deciding to follow his career, they moved out of Washington State and headed to sunny Colorado. Nicole wanted to continue working with animals and took a job at Westside where she can continue that love.
Their family consists of one mini Australian shepherd named Buster and two cats named Sophie and Mimi. The whole Keller family is enjoying their move to Colorado and plan to stay here for many years to come.
